Syria frontier of fight against terrorism

TEHRAN, Dec. 31 (MNA) – Iranian Deputy FM Amir-Abdollahian reiterated, on Thursday, that Iran keeps its support for Syrian government and nation in fighting against terrorists.

Bearing in mind the dangers of terrorism and extremism for the region and the world, Iran is perseverant in its support for the nations of the region in war against occupiers and Takfiri terrorists, said Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in his meeting with Syrian Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun on Thursday in Tehran.

The senior diplomat highlighted that after four years of war with extremists and terrorists in Syria, still, the Arab country is the front of the war againsy terrorism and hailed the Syrian nation for staying along with the legal government of Syria in their resistance against Takfiris.

Iran’s stance in backing Syrian sovereignty, government, territory and the will of the people has not wavered a bit in these years and Iranian nation and government will continue their support for Syria in fighting terrorists who are responsible for lives of thousands of innocent Syrian women, children and civilians, underlined Amir-Abdollahian.

During the meeting, Syrian Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, for his part, praised all the steps undertaken by the Islamic Revolution of Imam Khomeini in reviving the real Islam in the region.

The Islamic Revolution of Iran is move toward restoring the rights of Muslims and the oppressed nations of the region, said the Syrian grand cleric, highlighting some words of late Imam Khomeini, and the current Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khamenei.

He described the diplomatic measures of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the incumbent Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in international communities as source of proud for all Muslims.

Hassoun offered greetings over Iran’s success in the course of talks with 5+1 over Iran’s wholly peaceful nuclear program.
